absinthe

The decadent tradition of European Bohemia reborn in Gdansk!

“Absinthe has a wonderful color, green.
A glass of absinthe is as poetical as anything in the world.
What difference is there between a glass of absinthe and a sunset?”

"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were.
After the second, you see things as they are not.
Finally, you see things as they really are, and that is the most horrible thing in the world.”

- Oscar Wilde

"Let me be mad
...mad with madness of Absinthe,
the wildest most luxurious madness in the world."

- Marie Corelli

Absinthe- the Green Fairy - lengandary intoxicant of the 19th century Parisian boheme.
Made with licorise, anise, fennel, juniper, Melissa, and up to ten other herbs
- but most of all that which distinguishes absinthe from all other common alcohols wormwood,
which gives it that special magic and caused it to be banned for nearly 100 years.
Muse of the poets and painters, among them Baudilaire, Hemingway, Van Gogh, Rimbaud, Picasso,
all the Impressionists…though we give no guarantees.
As Oscar Wilde noted that while all poets are drunks, not
all drunks are poets.

Verlaine loved absinthe so much rather than good day, he greeted people in the cafes
with “I take it with sugar.” We serve absinthe in one of the traditional ways, with +
slotted spoon, sugar, fire and water. Or ask your bartender about Absinthe cocktails,
such as Death in the Afternoon, GinAbba, or London Fog (some drinks are seasonal.)
